Brian S. Appel
Chairman of our board of directors and Chief Executive Officer
Mr Appel founded CWT in February 1997. Mr. Appel initiated the TCP research and development facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1999. In December 2003, under Mr. Appel’s leadership, our company was named to the Scientific American 50, a list of people or companies recognized for their singular accomplishments contributing to the advancement of technology, in the category of energy. Prior to founding our company, Mr. Appel was the principal of Atlantis International, an international trading company. From 1983 to 1985, he was a principal of Ticket World USA, currently Ticketmaster, where he was responsible for business development. Mr. Appel is a member of the American Council on Renewable Energy, an organization that works to bring all forms of renewable energy into the mainstream of America’s economy and lifestyle. Mr. Appel has authored several papers on TCP. He received his undergraduate degree from Hofstra University.

Michael J. McLaughlin
Chief Financial Officer
Michael J. McLaughlin has been our Chief Financial Officer since September 2008. Prior to joining us, Mr. McLaughlin was vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Integrated Resources Holdings, Inc., formerly A.T. Clayton & Co., Inc., a paper distributor, from 1993 to 2008. During his career, Mr. McLaughlin has held executive positions in different industries, including consumer products, manufacturing, distribution and consulting service. He is a certified public accountant and is a member of the bar of the State of New York. He received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Manhattan College, an MBA in Tax from St. John’s University and a JD from Pace University.

James H. Freiss
Chief Operating Officer
Prior to joining us in 2001, Mr. Freiss was director of environmental affairs for ContiGroup Companies, Inc., or ContiGroup, a grain trading firm, from 1992 to 2001. At ContiGroup, Mr. Freiss was responsible for environmental management oversight and led research and development programs aimed at sustainable environmental technologies for agriculture. Prior to his tenure with ContiGroup, Mr. Freiss worked as an environmental consultant designing wastewater and water treatment facilities with CABE Associates, Inc., a provider of environmental and civil engineering services. Prior to that, Mr. Freiss worked as a construction and maintenance manager with Perdue Farms, Inc., a food and agricultural company. Mr. Freiss has chaired and participated in many agriculture related industry associations and committees, holds multiple patents involving agricultural waste management and has published numerous papers on wastewater management issues. Mr. Freiss received his undergraduate degree in Agricultural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and obtained his Professional Engineering license from the State of Delaware.

Dan F. Decker
Executive Vice President
Prior to joining us in June 2007, Mr. Decker was vice president of technical operations for ContiGroup from 2001 to 2007. Mr. Decker has extensive experience and expertise in both process and general management and has over 25 years experience in operational, production and logistics management of oilseed processing operations in North America, South America, Europe and Australia. In addition, Mr. Decker has a background in the management of 65 commodity related businesses and experience in joint venture development and construction management. Mr. Decker received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Eastern Illinois University.

Joseph P. Synnott
Vice President of Project Development
Mr. Synnott joined us in September 2008 as Vice President of Project Development bringing to the position almost 30 years of broad experience in the electric and gas energy sectors. Prior to joining us, Mr. Synnott held positions in engineering, marketing and sales, business development, strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions. Most recently, between 2007 and 2008, Mr. Synnott was a principal with the North American Energy Team of the Allco Finance Group, an Australian manager of alternative investments where he supervised development of an electric transmission line between New York and New Jersey and led the acquisition and integration of a large portfolio of energy assets. Previously between 1995 and 2006, he was a senior director for Duke Energy’s merchant energy subsidiary responsible for acquisition and divestiture activities and a member of the company’s various project management committees responsible for issues affecting the firm’s development projects. Mr. Synnott has worked with numerous public, governmental and other customers while at the New York Power Authority and held positions with Consolidated Energy Company and General Electric Company. He received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York, and an MS in Engineering from Purdue University and a certificate in management from Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Management.

William Lange
Director of Research and Development
Mr. Lange is an accomplished electromechanical, mechanical, electronics circuitry and electro-magnetic design specialist. Mr. Lange has done extensive work on fluid dynamics physics of molecular sheering, optical systems design, process automation, and photographic lab technique. His accomplishments include the design, engineering and fabrication of the first TDP units; blood separation techniques using Pherisis; electromechanical design fabrication and installation of “Yerkes” 41-inch telescope (University of Chicago); electrical engineering and wiring the first IMSI (100 Buss Systems - first PC computer); specialty design of pulseless peristaltic pumps (blood pumps); design, engineering and fabrication of UV sterilizing units extending the life of packaged meats; and designing and engineering the first rare-earth magnets (Pancake motors).

Craig Einfeldt
Plant Manager of Thermo Depolymerization LLC, our R&D Facility at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center
Mr. Einfeldt is an accomplished chemical engineer with fourteen years of progressive technical responsibility in the pulp and paper industry, with concentration in the research and development areas of pulping, bleaching and fiber processing; and has continued with six more years of R&D management experience at CWT’s research and development facility in Philadelphia, PA. He has been a Research Analyst at North Carolina State University, Department of Wood & Paper Science, where his main responsibilities included execution and planning of research experiments on a laboratory and/or pilot scale, in a timely and profitable manner. Some of Mr. Einfeldt’s additional responsibilities have included operation of a 3-ton/day CTMP pilot plant, and the development and modification of processes, procedures and equipment designed to optimize chemical consumption and/or reduce costs. Mr. Einfeldt has also held the position of Research Technician at International Paper Company’s Corporate Research Center, where he developed procedures and tested methods to improve product print quality for paperboard business units; conducted mill and plant implementation trials and performed competitive evaluations and data analysis presentations to management. Mr. Einfeldt has studied under Dr. Gratzel and Dr. Med Byrd of North Carolina State University, Department of Wood and Paper Science.
